OverBidding for Power
Overbidding is a strategy that some people use for long term gains in penny auctions. The theory behind this is that if people see that you are going to bid more than something is actually worth, you have the money to outbid them. In turn, these people will not pursue bidding against you as it will just be a waste of money for them. This plan can and has led to long turn profits for a few people, but for the majority, this is a plan that will backfire.
The overbidding strategy backfires for three reasons. One: the people that you bid against don’t necessarily look up your past auction information. In this scenario, you have worked hard and paid a lot to build yourself a reputation, yet the people you are bidding against are not paying attention to that reputation.
Two: some people are bound and determined to win an item. You might overbid on something, but what’s to stop your competition from cherry picking your future auctions and potentially use a sniper-type attack on you? You have spent a lot of bids to win an item, but the competition might just be waiting for you to surpass your threshold and give up on an item after you have put in a lot of effort and they are just beginning.
Three: other people overbid as well. You can easily get sucked into a bidding war against someone, only to find out that they are willing to overbid just like yourself. This is a surefire way to achieve mutual self-destruction.
If you are going to overbid, be careful. This strategy is only successful over a very long term and requires a lot of money invested. Don’t partake in overbidding if you do not plan on making penny auctions a daily activity without the use of a beezid promo code. This could become a complete waste of time in the end.
