Overbidding is a strategy that some people use for long term gains in penny auctions. The theory behind this is that if people see that you are going to bid more than something is actually worth, you have the money to outbid them. In turn, these people will not pursue bidding against you as it will just be a waste of money for them. This plan can and has led to long turn profits for a few people, but for the majority, this is a plan that will backfire.
The overbidding strategy backfires for three reasons. One: the people that you bid against don’t necessarily look up your past auction information. In this scenario, you have worked hard and paid a lot to build yourself a reputation, yet the people you are bidding against are not paying attention to that reputation.
Two: some people are bound and determined to win an item. You might overbid on something, but what’s to stop your competition from cherry picking your future auctions and potentially use a sniper-type attack on you? You have spent a lot of bids to win an item, but the competition might just be waiting for you to surpass your threshold and give up on an item after you have put in a lot of effort and they are just beginning.
Three: other people overbid as well. You can easily get sucked into a bidding war against someone, only to find out that they are willing to overbid just like yourself. This is a surefire way to achieve mutual self-destruction.
If you are going to overbid, be careful. This strategy is only successful over a very long term and requires a lot of money invested. Don’t partake in overbidding if you do not plan on making penny auctions a daily activity without the use of a beezid promo code. This could become a complete waste of time in the end.

Poker is a game of evaluating statistics and variables and then making the best decision you can with the limited information you are given. One of the most important variables is often a much overlooked factor. The number of people you are playing against should help you to determine which hands to play and how to play them. The fewer the number of people you play against, the more hands you can play. You should also play hands more aggressively at PokerStars.net since it is much more likely that people will fold to you.
Let’s look at the first point. You can play more hands because there are fewer people in each pot. This implies that there are fewer good hands dealt. A marginal hand in a ten person game can be a great hand in a three person matchup. When you should have been playing about one hand in eight to ten dealt, you can now play about one hand in every two or three. By lowering your starting requirements, you can play more hands, and thus have the opportunity to win more pots.
You should also play more aggressively since statistics say that it is much easier to get one or two people to fold than it is to get four or five folds. If you play aggressively, you will get more money in the pot and be more likely to get people to fold. When they don’t fold and you have a strong hand, the odds of them having a better hand are much lower since there are fewer cards in play. Some poker software out there will tell you similar things.

The vast majority of poker players in the U.S. Play Texas Hold ‘Em, but there are hundreds of variations of this traditional game. One popular game is called Razz. It is a seven card stud game, meaning you are dealt seven cards that you cannot exchange. Four of them are face up and three are dealt face down. This game is a lowball game, meaning the lower the numbers on the cards, the better your hand. Razz strategy is vastly different from Hold ‘Em in these respects.
The best hand you can have in Razz is A, 2, 3, 4, 5. Straights and flushes are meaningless in this game, meaning that they will not affect the quality of your hand. Rather, you will want to get the lowest cards possible without any pairs.
Stud is a great variation to Hold ‘Em in the respect that your face up cards can be used to trick your opponents. For example, if your face up cards were King, Queen, 4, 5, you would not seem to be a threatening opponent. But if your hole cards were A, 2, 3, you would have an unbeatable hand.
Razz requires a different skill set than Hold ‘Em; just because you are successful with one does not mean that you will be successful with the other. Still, a good poker player with solid fundamentals will prove to be adept at learning this variation of poker. With a little practice even at a live casino, you too can enjoy this game while winning money.

In FullTiltPoker.net tournaments, an interesting opportunity occurs when the bubble has not yet burst. In poker terms, the bubble is when the remaining players are on the verge of finishing in the money. The bubble bursts when the last non-scoring players bust out of the tournament. This means that all remaining players will win a portion of the prize money. This can be a couple hundred players, as with the World Series of Poker, or just two or three, as with a sit and go tournament.
This is a great opportunity for bigger stacked players to increase their chip lead. Short stacks will want to preserve their chips so they may finish in the money. Because of this fact, they will play much more conservatively unless they have a premium hand, like pocket aces. This creates a chance for the chip leaders to steal pots away from the now timid short stacks. Because they will be playing fewer hands, you can now play more hands and play them more aggressively, allowing you to get even more chips for use in the final stages of the tournament. If you do find yourself in a situation like this, you will want to place as high as possible in the tournament rather than just survive the bursting bubble. Additionally, the pots that you steal will be bigger than they would be if you used this strategy earlier in the game because of the increasing blind structure.

When you have the possibility of a good hand, but you require one more card to make that hand, you are said to be on the draw. These can be dangerous to you if you do not know when to abandon them. Flushes and straights are the most common draws you will run into.
When you have a four card flush after the flop, your odds of making your hand are about 2:1, meaning you will make your hand one out of every three times. The first thing to consider in this situation is your pot odds. If you have sufficient pot odds, you will want to consider staying in the hand. The next thing you need to know is whether or not you will actually win the hand should you continue to stay in it. If there is a pair on board, you stand the chance of running into a full house, a detrimental hand to a flush by anyone’s standards. Having a good read on your opponents is a must. The final thing to consider is how to get the most mileage out of your hand. How do you bet the hand so that you will win the most money? If your opponent also has a good hand, you might want to just keep betting. If they have a mediocre hand though, this will only scare them away. Masking the strength of your hand will usually be the best play in this situation. You might even go as far as slow playing the hand, by making your opponent do the betting for you until the last round. This is, of course, only the case if you make your hand, or you think a bluff will win for you.
